Polly

Polly is an experienced storyteller and visiting author who uses her picture books {The Ding-Dong Bag, It's Raining, Pouring, We're Exploring, The Wim Wom From the Mustard Mill} and the exciting novels Roar! Bull! Roar! and Falcon's Fury as a basis for performance and interactive workshops. She can pitch material for visits for Foundation/KS1 through to KS2, and lower KS3. {see below for separate drama work with KS3/4}. With younger participants in her class-based sessions, the storytelling and picture books can lead onto creative making workshops. Polly also works with young groups to develop their own storytelling/performance skills which can then lead to assembly sharing/parent performance at the end of her visit.

As a former drama teacher, Polly has worked extensively across the age spectrum from 4 to 18.  She is well known for using the teenage Plays With Attitude and the hard-hitting novel Crash {about to be relaunched as a play with DBDA} to work with KS3/4 groups. Plays With Attitude {6 published plays} have been performed worldwide {including New York, South Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand} and gone down a storm with teenagers. The plays cover both comedy {the football comedy thiller Kick Off, a night out clubbing in Much Ado About Clubbing}  and more PHSE based issues such as bullying and grief {Twisted, Angelcake, Dragon Chaser}. She also has scripts for younger readers that can lead to whole school performances. {Flipside - based on traditional tales and suitable for KS2 and KS3}.
